Privacy Policy
Effective date: 12 August 2026
This policy explains how Buri Son of eXp Realty handles personal information in connection with this website and our real estate services in Adelaide, South Australia. It is intended to describe our handling of personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) where they apply to us.
We take the privacy of buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and website visitors seriously. Please read this policy to understand what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can access, correct or complain about our handling of it.
1. Who this policy applies to
This website is operated by Buri Son, a licensed real estate representative working with eXp Realty in Adelaide, South Australia (RLA 000000). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that business and website.
This policy applies to personal information we collect through this website and through our day-to-day real estate work — including sales, appraisals, open inspections, buyer enquiries and property management services. eXp Realty and other organisations we work with have their own privacy policies that govern the information they hold.
2. Information we collect
The kinds of personal information we collect depend on how you interact with us. They may include:
- Contact and identity details — your name, email address, phone number, postcode and, where relevant, your postal or property address.
- Property, ownership and transaction details — information you give us about a property you own, are appraising, buying, selling or leasing, including its features, condition, price expectations, offers and related transaction records.
- Enquiry, appointment and inspection information — the content of your enquiries, requests for an appraisal or rental application, appointment bookings and, where applicable, attendance or interest recorded at an open inspection.
- Preferences and communications — your property search preferences, feedback and records of correspondence with us by email, phone, SMS or web form.
- Marketing preferences — whether you have asked to receive property and market updates, and whether you have opted out.
- Website, device and usage information — technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and interactions with the site, collected automatically by our website and hosting infrastructure.
- Records required for transactions or compliance — documents and details we are required to collect or retain in connection with a real estate transaction or our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not routinely collect sensitive information. Where sensitive information (for example, health or accessibility details relevant to a tenancy or an inspection) is reasonably necessary for a service you have asked for, we will collect it only with your consent or where we are otherwise authorised or required by law.
You can deal with us anonymously or by pseudonym where it is lawful and practicable to do so — for example, when browsing the site or making a general enquiry. However, we usually cannot provide an appraisal, progress an offer or manage a tenancy without your details.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information:
- Directly from you — through forms on this website (such as enquiry, appraisal, rental application and offer forms), phone calls, email, SMS, appointments, open inspections and transactions.
- From your authorised representatives or referrals — such as a co-owner, family member, conveyancer, legal adviser, finance broker or another agent acting for you, where they are authorised to provide it.
- From publicly available, property and industry sources and service providers — where lawful and reasonably necessary for our services, such as property listing and market data.
- Automatically through website technology — our website and hosting infrastructure record technical and usage information when you visit, as described in section 7.
If we receive personal information about you that we did not ask for and do not need, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it where the law allows.
4. Why we collect and use it
We collect, hold and use personal information to:
- Respond to your enquiries and requests.
- Prepare and provide property appraisals and market advice.
- Market and promote properties, including preparing listings, marketing material and campaign reporting.
- Facilitate sales, purchases, offers, open inspections, leasing and property management services.
- Provide the services you have asked for and manage our relationship with you.
- Maintain accurate customer, listing and transaction records in our customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Send property and market updates and other communications where you have given permission or where it is otherwise permitted.
- Personalise, maintain, secure and improve this website and our services.
- Meet our legal, regulatory, licensing, record-keeping and tax obligations.
5. Who we disclose it to
We disclose personal information only where it is reasonably necessary for the purposes above, where you have consented, or where we are required or authorised by law. Categories of recipients include:
- eXp Realty and authorised team members or agents working with us on your matter.
- Vendors, landlords, prospective purchasers, tenants or their authorised representatives — only to the extent necessary to progress an enquiry, offer, sale, tenancy or inspection.
- Professional and transaction service providers you or the other party instruct — such as conveyancers, legal advisers, finance brokers, building and pest inspectors, photographers and other marketing providers.
- Property portals and marketing channels where a property is listed or promoted with authority.
- Technology and service providers who support this website and our operations — including our CRM (Rex Software), our email and SMS marketing platform (GoHighLevel), our website hosting, database and email delivery infrastructure (Lovable and Supabase), Google Maps for location and travel-time features, and Google Fonts for website typography.
- Regulators, courts, law enforcement or other government bodies where we are required or authorised by law to disclose.
We do not sell personal information. We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own unrelated marketing purposes.
6. Direct marketing and opt-out
We may send you property listings, open inspection times, market updates and newsletters by email or SMS where you have asked to receive them, or where you would reasonably expect it because of your dealings with us and the law permits it.
Every marketing email and SMS includes a simple way to unsubscribe, consistent with our obligations under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). You can also opt out at any time by contacting us using the details in section 15, and we will action your request promptly. Marketing telephone calls are subject to the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth) and, if you ask us not to call, we will record and respect that.
Opting out of marketing does not stop necessary service communications — for example, messages about an active appraisal, offer, sale or tenancy.
8. Overseas disclosure
Some of the technology providers we use to host this website, store data and deliver email or SMS may process or store personal information outside Australia, or use infrastructure located overseas. Where APP 8 applies, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We are not able to reliably confirm every country in which our providers may hold or process data at any given time, so we have not listed countries here rather than give you information that may be inaccurate. If you would like current information about where your personal information may be handled, please contact us using the details in section 15 and we will provide what we can.
9. Storage, security and retention
We hold personal information in electronic systems, including our CRM and hosted database, and sometimes in physical documents. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls on our administrative systems, authentication for staff accounts and encrypted connections to this website.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent to us over the internet.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes it was collected for, or for as long as we are required to keep it for legal, regulatory or legitimate business record-keeping reasons. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, noting that residual copies may persist for a period in backups and archived records.
10. Access and correction
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
How to make a request
- Contact us using the details in section 15, describing the information you want to access or correct.
- We may need to verify your identity before we act on the request.
- We will respond within a reasonable period. In most cases access is free, though we may charge a reasonable cost for retrieving or copying substantial records.
- If we refuse access or a correction, we will tell you why in writing and explain how you can complain.
11. Privacy complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first using the details in section 15. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and respond to you within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Details of how to lodge a privacy complaint, and the OAIC's current contact options, are available at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints and oaic.gov.au/about-the-OAIC/contact-us.
12. Third-party links
This website may link to third-party websites, including property portals, industry bodies, government sources and information referenced in our articles and guides. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing personal information to them.
13. Children and young people
Our website and services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. Where a young person is involved in a property matter — for example, as part of a household — we expect their information to be provided by a parent, guardian or other authorised adult.
If you believe we hold personal information about a child that was provided without appropriate authority, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, systems or legal obligations. The current version is always published on this page with its effective date. This version is effective from 12 August 2026. Please check back periodically.
